UK Parliament Election Eligibility Criteria
In order to participate in UK parliamentary elections, individuals must meet the following criteria. Not be subject to any legal restrictions that disqualify voting rights; for example, individuals serving custodial sentences, and members of the House of Lords are also ineligible.
Be officially registered to vote within the relevant parliamentary constituency or ward.
Have attained the age of 18 or older on the polling day.
Be a British citizen, a qualifying citizen of a Commonwealth country, or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland.
You may register to vote up to two years prior to reaching the age of eligibility—please verify the specific voting age requirements within the UK.
